 North Carolina Zoo | BELIEVE in the Magic of the Season -  Asheboro, NC 

Tour the North Carolina Zoo, decked out in holiday décor, plus meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus.This daytime family adventure is sure to delight all ages with seasonal dining options and a scavenger hunt.This is held the first two weekends in December – don’t miss out.

Linbrook Hall Christmas | Trinity, NC

Unique holiday experiences are being offered at Linbrook Heritage Estate in Trinity, NC throughout December. Take a holiday guided tour of Linbrook Hall - three stories of antiques from across the globe with special details for the holidays. You'll also be able to hear stories of the Neal Family adventures and the history of the founding of the estate. The self-guided tours are Thursday through Saturday during the month of December.

Winter Wonder at Linbrook Hall features holiday stories, dance performances, and carolers with special performers from RhinoLeap Productions delighting audiences with holiday cheer - limited availability on Saturday evenings in December. *Advanced tickets are required for the Winter Wonder event.

 Millstone Creek Orchards this season for a magical Christmas adventure! Celebrate and enjoy a Christmas with the Kringles adventure - Christmas photos with professional photographers, Christmas hayride & light show, visits with Santa & Mrs. Claus, reindeer food creation station, Christmas cookie decorating, letters to Santa & hot cocoa! Cold Weather Fun Indoor Ideas!


Spend quality time with people that matter with family friendly activities found only in the Heart of North Carolina. Since 1990 the Family Sports Center (pictured left) in Asheboro, NC, has brought the fun with 32 bowling lanes, billiards, arcade and so much more.  The newest indoor attraction to the Heart of NC is Pitstop Raceway in Randleman, which includes an arcade, bar and grill. 


Wanting to learn about history this holiday season? Check out the American Classic Motorcycle Museum and the NC Aviation Museum and Hall of Fame in Asheboro. At American Classic Motorcycle Museum see one of the largest private collections of antique Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the country, including 45 bikes dating from 1936 to 1978. At the NC Aviation Museum and Hall of Fame see two large hangars full of military artifacts, planes and more from WWI to the present, be sure to plan ahead as they do offer holiday events.

From our traditional movie experience at Cinemark VII  in Asheboro located in the Asheboro Mall, to our family-owned and operated Liberty Showcase Theater in Liberty, NC where performances include the Jerry Allison's Annual Christmas Show. Sunset Theatre (pictured left) located in downtown Asheboro will have a show or two for you this holiday season that can't be missed.

Take a Scenic Drive and Explore the Pottery Highway 

Oftentimes the best memories can be made on a winding country road. One of our most beautiful back roads in Randolph County takes visitors to Seagrove, NC, nestled in the southern part of the Heart of NC. The true experience of the Seagrove Pottery community is meeting the makers of this craft, some that are 8th generational potters. Driving down NC Hwy 705, Pottery Highway, you will encounter historic areas of North Carolina which have been making and selling hand-thrown and hand-built pottery since the eighteenth century. Make sure to plan to explore the charming dining and unique shops throughout the Downtown Seagrove area as well to support these small businesses.

Off-Broadway Entertainment Comes to the Heart of NC

RhinoLeap Productions is a professional theater production company based out of Randolph County since 2015. The production season is filled with comedy, drama, tragedy, documentaries, podcasts, and seasonal entertainment. November kicks off with An Iliad being performed at Four Saints Brewing Company – the only brewery in Randolph County. Off-Broadway entertainment continues to at 1926 restored Historic Sunset Theatre with productions of Driving Miss Daisy and Unnecessary Farce. Production subscriptions include a ticket to each RhinoLeap performance for 2021 – 2022.

Legendary Entertainment at the Liberty Showcase Theater

Live music and world-class entertainers perform in an intimate vintage movie theater in the downtown area of Liberty. Established in 1949 as The Curtis Movie Theater, this historic venue now hosts legendary artists from the music industry across several genres including bluegrass, country, and gospel. Theater owners, Dewey, and Leslie Brown are also known to entertain their guests with original music written and performed by the couple.
