Archdale:

Creekside Park - Creekside Park

Family fun starts here at eh inclusive kids' playground and at Barkdale - Creekside Park's dog park. Walk or run in a weekly international 5k called parkrun. Make sure to trek along three miles of scenic walking trails as you spend a full day at Creekside park. 


Holly Ridge Golf Links - Holly Ridge




Whether you’re looking for an amazing well-kept course, or just some indoor fun with the family, Holly Ridge Golf Links has it all. This newly renovated championship golf course offers a challenge to all golfers. If you’re looking to play indoors, check out “The Bunker Lounge” inside the clubhouse filled with six amazing simulators.


Davis Ranch - Davis Ranch

Take the bull by the horns, or at least watch it, at Davis Ranch during a summertime PBR Invitational. Come check out one of the most exciting live-action.



Asheboro:


Uwharrie Birkhead Wilderness Area - Uwharrie National Forest

Access 5,160 acres of the ancient Uwharrie National Forest in the Birkhead Mountains Wilderness Area. The Piedmont's only federally-designated wilderness area, the Birkhead Mountains features designated hiking trails where evidence of early Indians and settlers can often be found.


North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame - Aviation Museum

Calling all aircraft lovers! Dive into aviation history. See stunning military artifacts and memorabilia from WWI to the present including an impressive collection of military vehicles, weapons, equipment, uniforms, and a flight simulator as well as a Piper J-3 "Flitfire" flown by Orville Wright. Also, check out President Truman's limousine restored to operable condition. 


North Carolina Zoo Adventures - ZooFari



The North Carolina Zoo offers one of the most unique and amazing adventures to take in the ZooFari. Journey through the 40-acre Watani Grasslands and learn about nine species and close to 100 animals, including rhinoceroses, gazelles, greater kudus and many exotic antelope


Downtown Asheboro - Downtown Asheboro



Downtown Asheboro offers varying cuisines of local dining, boutiques and local shops, zoo-themed crosswalks, and murals. Explore downtown Asheboro, a wonderful adventure for everyone.


Asheboro Municipal Golf Course - Asheboro Municipal Golf

Just minutes from downtown Asheboro, this popular public nine-hole course designed by the famed Donald Ross in 1935. It is located on 56 acres featuring beautiful tree-lined greenways.

Franklinville/Ramseur:


Deep River State Trail - Deep River State Trail

The historic trail offers scenic views along the Deep River in Franklinville and Ramseur. Hike, bike, walk, run, or bring the pups out for this amazing walk and feel closer to nature than ever before.


Millstone Creek Orchards - Millstone Creek




This working orchard on the outskirts of Randolph County offers everything you could imagine for your day outside. From farm tours, pond fishing, seasonal apple and pumpkin picking, and don't forget the apple cider slushies.


Ramseur Lake - Ramseur Lake

Make it a full day in and around Ramseur Lake. This 127-acre reservoir and nine-acre park include boat launches, Jon boat rentals and bait shops for fishing, picnic shelters with tables and grills, a playground, and public restrooms.

Liberty Antiques Festival 

This biannual festival draws antique enthusiasts from across the nation to buy and sell all kinds of antiques. Find furniture, paintings, glassware, toys, pottery and more. The Liberty Antiques Festival is something truly amazing to experience.


Hurricane Jane’s Restaurant - Hurricane Jane's

Nestled in Liberty is Hurricane Jane’s offering American cuisine and daily specials that are sure to hit the spot. Stop in before your evening at the Liberty Showcase Theater.


The Liberty Showcase Theater - Liberty Showcase



The Liberty Showcase Theater in the heart of downtown Liberty hosts shows of some of your favorite artists. From Nashville recording artists to bluegrass performers, the Liberty Showcase Theater delivers every time.


Whitaker Farms

Open year round, Whitaker Farms in nearby Climax offers a memorable experience for all ages. From strawberry picking in late spring, pumpkin picking in the fall, and visits with Santa in the winter, Whitaker Farms is a place that you can't miss in the Heart of NC.  



Randleman:


Victory Junction Camp - Victory Junction

Centered on 84 acres of land in Randleman, Victory Junction serves as a medically safe, yet exhilarating camp, that challenges children who have medical conditions to try things they never imagined possible. From bowling, fishing, archery, swimming, or even zip-lining Victory Junction truly is one of the most unique and wonderful places.


Downtown Randleman Commerce Square Park - Commerce Square

The gem of downtown Randleman, Commerce Square, is home to multiple annual events including concerts, the NC Food Truck Championship, and NASCAR Day. Check out the beautiful mural by hometown artist Susan Harrell featuring the Deep River. 


Petty Museum - Petty Museum & Petty's Garage - Petty's Garage

Learn all about the first family of racing and the history of NASCAR itself at the Petty Museum. With humble beginnings in 1949, Petty's garage today is a second-generation performance shop specializing in parts, restorations, and custom builds. Visit both locations to see where the Petty family first fell in love with speed and became racing loyalty.


Randleman Lake - Randleman Lake

Find a full day of family fun with boating and fishing on a 3,000 acre lake with 100 miles of shoreline at Randleman Lake.

Seagrove Pottery



The Town of Seagrove is “The Handmade Pottery Capital of the United States.” With over 100 individual working potters in town, you are invited to explore at your own pace from one pottery shop to the next. See potters make their famous handmade traditional pottery that has been created here for generations.


Seagrove Orchids - Seagrove Orchids

One of the more unique places in the Heart of NC is Seagrove Orchids. Explore this working orchid nursery offering countless varieties of plants catered to both novice and experienced orchid growers.  


I-73/74 Visitor Centers - Visitor Centers

If your journey to the Heart of NC is just beginning or coming to a close stop in and say hello at the I-73/74 Visitor Centers. Greet our friendly staff knowledgeable on all things Randolph County. Also, check out the amazing views from the green roof manicured by Master Gardeners.


Carolina Bronze Sculpture Garden & Foundry - Carolina Bronze

Established in 1990, the Carolina Bronze Sculpture Garden & Foundry serves as a premier bronze foundry serving clients throughout the world. Walk the half-mile trail loops around the pond with over 26 large sculptures on display along with plants and trees that are native to the NC landscape.


North Carolina Pottery Center - NC Pottery Center

The North Carolina Pottery Center serves as the pottery history hub in Seagrove. Open since 1998, as a dynamic and engaging place where people of all backgrounds, ages, and interests discover the beauty and the stories behind North Carolina’s world-class clay culture.


The General Wine & Brew - General Wine and Brew



In their words, The General Wine and Brew is the perfect place to “uncork and unwind.” While visiting Seagrove, enjoy a glass of wine or your favorite beer on their outdoor deck following a day of pottery shopping.


Trinity: 


Trinity Museum - Trinity Museum/Winslow House

This 1855 house was the home of Dr. Thomas Winslow. It is one of the few structures that remain in the Old Trinity College that later moved to Durham to become Duke University. This historic home has been preserved for its entire existence and can now be toured by appointment. 


Zimmerman Vineyards - Zimmerman Vineyards

Nestled on 140 acres in the foothills of Mt. Sheppard, Zimmerman Vineyards offers some of the best local wines in the state. Sit on the stone terrace and relax as you listen to amazing local live music. 


Linbrook Heritage Estate - Linbrook Heritage Estate


   

The Linbrook Heritage Estate offers a trip back in time as you explore one of the largest privately owned homes in the country. Enjoy Linbrook Hall's breathtaking Christmas tours, visit the Neal Agricultural and Industrial Museum for a full day of family fun.

Faith Rock along the Deep River State Trail - Faith Rock

Located in Franklinville, sitting on the banks of the Deep River, Faith Rock offers the perfect spot for a photo. Take in the views of this historic site where legends of a revolutionary war tale are told upon this rock.


Richard Petty Tribute Park


   

Located in Randleman, home of the “King of NASCAR”, the Richard Petty Tribute Park honors Richard and Lynda Petty with a statue for their service to the community and philanthropy through the Petty Family Foundation. Created by Carolina Bronze Sculpture in Seagrove, you can now take a picture with racing royalty whenever you visit.

After your amazing day exploring and shopping in Downtown Asheboro, stop for one last photo at the train mural. Located on Sunset Avenue, this beautiful mural with a working headlight, offers a truly perfect photo spot.


Elephant statues/sculpture at North Carolina Zoo Entrance - Zoo Art

Caraway Speedway - Caraway Speedway

The Caraway Speedway located just north of Asheboro is home to a .455 mile track that hosts a variety of weekly series including the Whelen Southern Modified Series events, as well as other touring series.

Summer nights are better at the ballpark! The Asheboro ZooKeepers, a collegiate wooden bat team, play during the summer at the newly renovated, Historic McCrary Park. Catch a game under the lights and enjoy a night out at the ballgame.


Pottery Festival Weekend

The historic annual weekend in Seagrove offers not one but two pottery festivals at the same time. Shop as local potters display, show, and sell their amazing works of art. This special weekend takes place the weekend before Thanksgiving every year.
